AUDIOLOGIST
Helen is our new audiologist who started working part-time at Hearing Help back in November 2025. Helen Soesilo (nee Chiu) has nearly a decade of experience working in audiology and is passionate about helping individuals across the lifespan with their hearing.
She has previously worked at RBWH as a diagnostic audiologist within the ENT clinic, and most recently at Hear and Say, a non-for-profit organisation that specialises in working with children with cochlear implants and hearing loss. Helen loves working with children and is confident in conducting hearing tests for little ones using play audiometry. Helen is currently enjoying upskilling in the areas of conducting Auditory Processing assessments. She is passionate in continuing her learning about APD (Auditory Processing Disorder) and how these listening difficulties can affect children and adults of all ages.
Helen is also an experienced adult rehabilitation audiologist who is confident in conducting diagnostic hearing assessments; discussing aural rehabilitation options and recommending appropriate hearing aids or assistive listening devices based on the patient’s needs. Helen has previously worked across a range of other audiology providers including Specsavers Audiology, Amplifon (previously known as National Hearing Care) and Attune throughout her career.
Helen also works as a speech pathologist part-time at a speech pathology private practice on the days when she is not at Hearing Help. She has 11 years of experience working with children and adults alongside their families to reach their full potential in regards to their communication.
She is passionate about communication and loves working in both fields of audiology and speech pathology as she feels both of them go ‘hand in hand’ together. She believes that everyone has a right to be able to communicate their needs and feels that both her roles as an audiologist and speech pathologist give her an opportunity to help others in doing so. She is a caring, friendly and motivated clinician who enjoys seeing a diverse range of patients from all different backgrounds.
