On time appointments with our expert Psychologists

Mary Watt – Psychologist & Executive Leadership Coach

JOTHAM JOUBERT (JJ) – CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

At Newport Physio and Health we are lucky enough to employ a female psychologist Mary, and a male clinical psychologist JJ.

Both Mary and JJ work 5 days a week here at the clinic, have minimal waiting lists so you can make an appointment and be seen quite quickly.

Our psychologists can help you with all types of mental health conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Addiction
  • Eating disorders
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Personality disorders
  • Stress
  • Emotional problems
  • Grief and trauma
  • Workplace challenges
  • Family challenges
  • Relationship problems

Each of our psychologists have special areas of interest.

Mary has special areas of interest helping healthcare workers, working with people with addictions, and coaching and advising high performing individuals.

JJ has special areas of interest helping couples, young men and people who have suffered trauma. He also does Cognitive Assessments (IQ Testing) and Academic/Learning Assessments (for children aged 6 and older).

Note – neither of our psychologists see children under 12 years of age (except for Jotham with his Cognitive Assessments and Academic/Learning Assessments).

Our fees for psychology and clinical psychology are in line with market rates charged by psychologists in our region. You receive rebates when you present with a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, or where you have extras cover on your private health insurance that covers psychology and clinical psychology services.

Our psychologists do not bulk bill as the bulk billing rebates and the lack of Medicare indexation of them in the past 20 years do not allow for us to viably operate a business and pay our staff. We keep our rates at market value and we charge less that the rates recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

You will receive high quality, personalised and discrete care. We are a modern clinic, with beautiful airconditioned and soundproof consulting rooms as we value your privacy.

To access our services please call us on 1300 004 020 and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have, and find a suitable appointment time for you.
